The Emperor, a Chinese restaurant that has many local food magazines, is a Sichuan cuisine and has been improved according to local tastes, so it is not particularly spicy.

service was very good,the george was very busy didnt really like the seating area that we were put in as they was little room to move.Food was very nice and tasty but compared to past visits the portions were a lot smaller and a bit pricey for what you got

Another pleasant couple of hours at lunchtime using a Groupon voucher. Initially not as busy as in previous weeks, so very relaxed. It did get busier after 1pm.

I went with the family the food was fresh hot and really good. We choose the all you can eat deal which is basically anything on the menu, found that it was good value for the money and will be going back with family and friends in the near future.

An excellent place for a Sunday get together with friends, great food, and the food is fresh, really fresh. The place is rammed every time we have been there, so the food is freshly cooked, and very nice too! The starters as ever at a Chinese are superb, and I personally keep to them and just have one main dish. I might be losing out, but for me, the duck, the spare ribs and the fantastic prawn on toast are to die for! And when you are full, they put out some toffee banana and apple! What more could a man want! Superb is the only word i can say.

This is our local Chinese restaurant and we have been using it for some years. The food is great as are the staff. I cannot understand the reviewers who have criticized the service as we have never had a problem with it. The eat as much as you like menu is great value for money as is the Sunday lunch buffet. Make sure you book early as this is a very busy restaurant.

It is rare for me to review a Chinese restaurant at all, let alone rave about one but this is an exceptional place. The evening buffet &quot;order as much as you can eat&quot; menu at &pound;19 a head is extraordinarily good value for fantastic food. The sweet and sour prawns were sensational - the best prawn dish I have ever tasted in any restaurant. The place was completely full - I am told it always is so you need to book. The staff are swift and very pleasant. Service with a smile is important and the staff here seem very happy to be working there. My only gripe was about the TV screen aquariums on several walls which kept flickering and dimming to reload every hour or so and made the area quite dark as they provide lighting as well as the fish video. If you have to have video aquaria on the walls - and why would you?- then you could at least have a five hour tape so diners are not plunged into the gloom on the hour!
